I know, I know, I keep popping in and out of here like a ding dang whack-a-mole. It's important this time, I promise.
So, I'm nearly done writing this story. It's a vampire story, but also a zombie story, with a couple of genre-busting twists. Short version is this: Montreal, my home city, is the location of the largest underground city in the world. Clearly it needs vampires who rot into zombies when they don't drink enough blood.
The novel will follow Tommy Kagan, an almost med school graduate who accidentally gets turned right at the onset of a rot plague. He is then swept into the mystery of how the plague began, how to stop it, and why the fuck he doesn't seem to be following some of the rules of vampire biology. My cast is diverse and (I'd like to think) complex, and while the story does in many ways fit into the horror and paranormal genres, it has an element of dark humour to it, and I try not to take myself too seriously throughout. Also, because I'm me, I've scienced the shit out of vampires and zombies. It was great fun.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: YOU CAN READ THIS ONLINE.
It's called Skylight, and I'm quite proud of it. Click on the link above to give it a shot. If you have a tumblr, please please follow the blog and reblog stuff and click around. I'm trying to build some kind of social media audience that I can point to when I try to find it an agent.

hey
yo. harpg was supposed to be free, you guys. what is happening
Very Briefly
So, I've just put a whole crapton of art in storage and deleted almost every journal. It was something of an experience, because having to do it all chronologically backwards gave me quite the view of myself.
Anyway, for those of you who are still around and wondering where the heck I am and what I'm up to, I'm one semester from a second degree in education and hopefully a job teaching high school science. I'm currently writing a vampire novel set in Montreal's underground city, and I just watched a horse win the Triple Crown for the first time in 37 years. I gained a bunch of weight but I'm counting calories and I've lost 6 lbs of it so far

Great art, love the detail on everything, but I need to tell you, your records tech has a serious problem. She will fall as soon as she moves. Those fancy running blade prosthetics really only work if you have two. Using just one will unbalance her, literally springing her into the air on her left, and her natural right won't compensate. They don't work well for regular use either, even Pistorious doesn't use them in the house.
