Well... here she is. It took me many hours and a lot of sugar, but Eight Belles' memorial tribute is done. I decided against the inset (sorreh Plio!) because the styles clashed too much, and wouldn't have allowed me to go for this kind of composition without making the whole thing uber-wide.

Also, after much consideration, I went for the same style as the Morning Line pictures... because I'm quite partial to it, for one thing, and because I'm quite comfortable mentioning Eight Belles, Curlin and George Washington in the same breath. They're all three great horses.

Sign the petition to ring eight bells for Eight Belles at next year's Kentucky Derby!

Title French for "the champion" in the female sense... inspired by the fact that Belle is French for "beautiful one"

this is amazing. the only thing you COULD add, if you wanted to, would be a black border around the entire thing, but I love it. I like how you made it like the other ones, it looks amazing.
