Devil's New Dawn

This has been drawn and waiting around since Devil's last race drawing, no jokes.

It took a while to teach our star gelding that the point of jumps was not, in fact, to knock over as many standards as possible with as much noise as possible. For many weeks, it was his favourite game. Then, we brought in Sterling for her daily exercise (over obstacles far lower than she could clear in her youth, but she enjoyed it nonetheless) and held Devil nearby so he could watch. After that, he took to the new discipline like the proverbial duck to water.

And furthermore, the agility he displayed on the tight turns at the racetrack seems to serve him beautifully at a lower velocity and in tighter spaces. We're sending him in for a nuclear scan soon, and if he comes back clean, we're going to try to re-train him for cross-country and possibly even three-day eventing, depending on how responsive he is to basic dressage. This claimer that almost got away could turn out to be one hell of a horse even off of his precious firm turf track.
